Research for a sustainable aquaculture

A sustainable aquaculture is indispensable for supplying the population with food.

We research gentle ways of cultivating marine organisms. In a sustainable marine aquaculture, besides the production of marine products, the process-related environmental impacts are important criteria for an ecologically and economically sustainable use of resources. Therefore, product quality, traceability of the marine organisms produced as well as the transparency in their production are important aspects in the aquaculture business.

The monitoring and estimation of the environmental impact of aquaculture is a focus of CRM both internationally and in the area of its own aquaculture facility.
